CONTINUOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION

Central Board of Secondary Education introduced CCE for classes I to V in the academic year 2004 - 2005. It has now been extended to cover all classess upto X.

To facilitate CCE the following changes are effected in the examination and Evaluation Process for Classes I to X with effect from the academic year 2010 - 2011.

Academic year is divided into two terms

(i) April to September - I Term (ii) October to March - II Term

For the assessment of Scholastic subject, each term will have two Formative Assessment (FA) (Continous Evaluation) and one Summative Assessment (SA), the terminal written examination.

The Evaluation Pattern will be as follows :

Formative (FA-1) - 10%
(April - June)
Formative (FA-3) - 10%
(Oct - Dec)
Formative (FA-2) - 10%
(July - Sep)
Formative (FA-4) - 10%
(Jan - March)
Summative (SA-1) - 30%
(Sep)
Summative(SA-2)- 30%
(March)

Formative Assessment includes

Unit Tests / Monthly Tests / Class Tests / Slip Tests / Oral Tests/ Class & Home Assignments, Project, Lab activities, reading and writing skills, group work etc.

IMPORTANT :

For all classes, the final assessment will be completed by 3rd week of March and results(except for X and XII) will be declared by the end of March.

The next academic year (2014 - 15) will commence in the 1st Week of April 2014 for all classes.

  • School fees for the academic year 2013 - 2014 will be collected in two installments.
  • For the I term - by 15th April 2013
  • For the II term - by 15th October 2013
  • In addition to scholastic assessments, aspects such as Life Skills, attitudes and values, participation in activities, creative skills aesthetic skills, performing arts, health and physical education will also be evaluated.
  • For classes L.Kg., U.Kg., XI and XII the existing system of examination and evaluation will continue.

If a child is absent without any genuine reason and permission from the school, the weightage will be calculated only from the test / exams appeared and no re-test / re-examination will be conducted.

If a child is absent for test / exams for reason beyond the control of the child, parent should give a letter to the Principal and necessary permission is to be obtained. No child will be exempted from giving the annual examination / Summative Assessment. The projected score or retest marks will not be considered for proficiency prizes.
