TEACHER TRAINING DETAILS

To update the skills and subject knowledge of the teachers and to enhance their competency in teaching, they are encouraged to attend various workshops and seminars. The school has organised Capacity Building Programs (CBP) to update the professional competency of all the teachers right from kindergarten to class XII.

• Webinar by CBSE on ‘Promoting Use of Libraries and Cultivating Reading Habits’ was conducted on 1st June, 2023 by the resource person Dr Sharadha Chandrasekaran, Academic Director, Head of the Institution, Whitefield Global School, Bengaluru. She highlighted the importance and significance of library through which the young minds develop the habit of reading. She emphasized to have a classroom library to kinder the joy of reading and allocate a special time for doing the Drop Everything And Read activity
• CBP ‘Teacher and the Taught’ was conducted on 7th June, 2023 by the resource person Dr Uma Sivaraman, Former Assistant Commissioner, KV Sangathan, Member SMC. She elaborated the multiple roles of a teacher. Orientation on Foundational Literacy & Numeracy for the teachers of L. Kg to Class 2, was held on 8th June, 2023 by Principal and Vice-Principals. They explained about the National Curriculum Framework’s objective and goals in first eight years of a child’s life.
• Orientation programme for all the teachers, was held on 10th June, 2023 by the resource persons from Ramakrishna Mutt, Swami. Apavargananda, Swami. Satyaprabhanda, and Sri. Sambamdan, Educational Advisor.
• Swami. Apavargananda conducted the ‘Guided Meditation’ with the objective of self-awareness and to gain new perspective to deal with stress.
• Swami. Satyaprabhanda quoted interesting anecdotes eliciting the pivotal role of the teachers and added that every teacher should realize that ‘Teaching is not a job but a service and also every teacher is a life- long learner’.
• Sri. Sambamdan, motivational speaker and educational advisor, explained the importance of self-involvement, empathy and the understanding the anxiety of children. He reiterated the point of self-introspection.
• Orientation on NEP 2020 and NCF, was held on 15th July, 2023 by Dr K. R. Malathy. She discussed at length earlier educational systems, Kothari Commission, ASER, NIPUN Bharat, DIKSHA and SAFAL. While discussing Foundational Literacy and Numeracy she insisted on explaining through authentic examples.
