INTERACT CLUB
- The school’s Interact Club has conducted a number of events spread across the calendar year Cancer Awareness Programme ‘Walkathon’ was held in April 2023 at Loyola College organized by Rotary Club of Madras Youth Wing, to create cancer awareness among the students.
- Beat the Heat – Support the Supporting Staff an effort to respect the work of the Supporting Staff of the school, our Interactors and the teaching staff gave ‘Summer Package’ consisting a watermelon and buttermilk packs for all the supporting staff of the school.
- No Plastic Campaign - In connection with the World Environment Day, students of the Primary and Secondary department and the teachers participated in this campaign with great interest and dedication. They contributed many paper and cloth bags for this cause.
- Wall of Gratitude As a part of thanksgiving, we at HSSS, Triplicane, organize the Wall of Gratitude. on 10th October 2023. The students and teachers used sticky notes to write who they were thankful for.
- A Street Play about ‘Cleanliness Awareness’ was performed by the Interactors. Students, teachers and residents of Alangatha Street witnessed this wonderful presentation.
- World Food Safety Day In connection with this, on 28th November 2023, Poster Making was done by students of class VI to VIII. Speeches by students were also presented in the school assembly.
- The initiative ‘Handful of Rice’ started with an aim to promote the value of donating among students has been successfully carried out, where in the members of the interact club take active part in motivating all to contribute for a good cause. Like last year, this year also the collected rice and provisions were handed over to Samarpana – a home for special children and the aged.
ECO CLUB:
Eco Club aims to create environmentalawareness and inculcate the culture of eco-friendly and environmental observation among the students.
“One Child One Plant” Campaign – A green initiative by CBSE. As a part of the campaign, students planted saplings in our school campus in the August 2023.
‘Safe Diwali’ Awarenessrally by the students of class XI was held in the school campus on 7th November, 2023. Placards highlighting tips for celebrating Safe Diwali were presented by students In the month of February,To promote ‘Green living and Healthy life style’, students will display eco-friendly products made from natural resources or recycled materials. An essay writing on “Say No to Plastics” will be conducted for class XI students.
HEALTH & WELLNESS CLUB
The objective of the club is to create awareness among the students about health, hygiene andits importance. Every year the following activities are conducted to promote physical and mental wellbeing of the students.
- · Distribution of Folic acid and Deworming tablet.
- · Awareness programme on Menstrual Hygiene by Procter and Gamble.
Special Measles and Rubella Vaccination Camp was conducted on 6th January, 2024 by Public health and preventive medicine. 200 students from primary classes were vaccinated. The camp will be conducted for the students of VI to X on a later date.
Medical camp for all the students (Pre-Kg to XII) was organized from 19.01.2024 to 29.01.2024 in collaboration with Sakthi hospitals. General health, eye and dental checkup were done for all the students and comments of the doctors were shared with the parents.
KARUNA CLUB
Shri.Rama Murugesh, Educational Officer of Karuna International,Chennai, inaugurated Karuna Club.Various activities such as visit to Goshala, drawing, essay writing,cleaning the temple, planting sapling etc. were conducted for the students on various dates. special activity- an Online Quiz in the topic “Stories of Compassion” was conducted for the students of Middle School.‘One Handful of Rice’, an initiative inculcating the value of sharing among students is in the school. The students and staff contributed generously and the rice collected along with the provisions was donated to an old age home, a patashala and to an orphanage.
